Progress Log 7 - Half Time


Team Summary

The team has made preparations for our final sprint before showcasing our game to the public at a games event. All there's left now are the final, last-minute preparations prior to the event. Nothing particularly different from the usual - creating assets and implementing them as well as peripheral promotional material for display at the event itself.

  • Begin work on midground assets to populate the level with decoration.
  • Continue to expand the reference board with ideas and reference material for more midground assets.

Raymond

Completed

  • Updated the main menu to include the new typeface and game logo.
  • Added functionality for HUD elements such as the count-up timer, death counter and stage counter. Death state system were reworked to make the death counter work as intended.

Assigned Tasks

  • End of level screen which displays time taken to complete the level and the number of deaths accrued. The time and death count will reset upon starting the subsequent level.
  • Implement a range of new assets prior to the event. This includes assets such as: enemy animations, enemy death animations, sliding pipe sprite update and Buck's sliding animations.
  • Implement a 'sliding state' for Buck to facilitate implementation of other systems/assets related to Buck sliding.
  • Discuss survey questions for collecting feedback during the event.

  • Creation of our studio logo.
  • Adjustment of the game logo to match new details added to the studio logo.

  • Create QR code flyer for survey link and display stand.
  • Create business card designs featuring the created logos.
  • Print and cut QR code flyer and business cards.
  • Discuss survey questions for collecting feedback during the event.
